The Pays d'Auge (75km - 110km from Asnelles)

The Pays d'Auge , in eastern Calvados, is the most emblematic territory of Normandy. From Pont l'Evêque to Livarot , passing through Lisieux , explore a landscape made up of apple orchards, stud farms and half-timbered farms.

Cider, Calvados, and Pommeau are produced throughout Calvados and Normandy, but particularly in the Pays d'Auge. In fact, the Pays d'Auge is also a protected designation of origin (AOC) area.

Pays d'Auge, the other land of cheese: camembert, pont lévêque and livarot are made at the Graindorge cheese factory in Livarot with raw milk to guarantee the AOC.

Beuvron-en-Auge (one of the most beautiful villages in France), Beaumont-en-Auge or Blangy-le-Château : pretty, typical villages where colored timber framing enlivens the facades.

Hidden from view, thoroughbreds are bred in the numerous stud farms of the Pays d'Auge. Visit a stud farm or go behind the scenes at the Calvados racecourses and meet these horse lovers.

Not forgetting Lisieux , the main town of the Pays d'Auge, and its famous Sainte-Thérèse basilica.
