British Cemetery (13km from Asnelles): Located in Bayeux, Calvados, it is near the Normandy Battle Memorial Museum. It is the largest British military cemetery in France. The central mound of the cemetery, dominated by a large basalt lava cross, contains the remains of 207 unknown soldiers and 89 identified soldiers whose names are engraved on plaques. Around the mound are 49 rectangular plots. Each plot contains approximately 400 graves.
